“I didn’t know that ending poverty had rules, and I proceeded to break all of them.”
Theresa Carrington

Growing up on an isolated farm in Kansas, Theresa Carrington knew poverty first-hand. Instead of dragging her down, her upbringing equipped Theresa uniquely for her professional career as an award-winning investigative journalist and her work as a social innovator who is helping thousands of families all over the world to exit poverty.

There is another connection between these two professional paths: Whether she is giving voiceless people a voice as a journalist or providing artisans in developing countries with the chance to build and thrive in their own businesses through the Blessing Basket project, Theresa is using the power of storytelling.

If you want to know how to operate in your purpose, what it feels like if the universe responds to you when you need it most, and why you should never listen to your fearful voices - this podcast is for you!

Merits, Medals, and More

Theresa Carrington describes the Blessing Basket Project as her attempt “to pay forward all of the love and random acts of kindness that people have done and continue to do for me.”

Theresa has been honored as one of St. Louis’s Most Influential Women; Humanitarian of the Year by Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville; and YWCA Non Profit Leader for her opinion-leading perspective and unique approach to poverty reduction. The Blessing Basket Project won the Intercultural Innovation Award 2016 from the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the BMW Group. Theresa is a member of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network.
