Mayte Schomburg

Mayte Schomburg is an innovator who uses technology to drive civic engagement among youth in Germany. Through the platform Publixphere, she takes political participation to the next level, opening a public space for youth to freely exchange ideas.

Mayte has lived in the United States and in Germany: two countries that are not only strategic partners but a community of values. At least, they used to be. Mayte has witnessed first-hand the growing divide and is thinking about ways to fix it.

Merits, Medals, and More

Mayte is chair at Publixphere, a non-profit focusing on fostering dialogue between politically interested young people and institutions, foundations, and experts. She also works as solutions executive at xUpery Ltd., a boutique consulting firm specialized in navigating digital transformations.

She was a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, and holds a doctorate in international relations. Mayte currently spends her time between Cambridge and her home town of Hamburg.

Mayte is a member of the Transatlantic Core Group.
